Cycling for Change Initiative
Cycling 4 Change (C4C) is a permanent Malachi Foundation initiative that aims to raise money through harnessing our love for the sport of cycling. The funds that are pledged by you, the donor, are put into action to support local NPCs in the area that are doing God’s work, so doing sustainably effecting positive change in our local communities.
Garden Route Quest
The Garden Route Quest is a 24-hour cycling and trail running challenge that takes place annually as part of our C4C initiative.
At 12 noon, five friends embark on a 24-hour quest to complete as many 14km laps of the George Botanical Gardens as possible, with the aim of climbing a total of 30 000m in ascent.
The goal is to raise R1 million for other local NPC’s in the George area, and more importantly, to support youth workers employed at their schools who assist school kids with their wellbeing, from a Christian basis.
Date: 2 Nov – 3 Nov 2026
Route: 14km lap around George Botanical Gardens, with 377m ascent.
Past Initiatives
The Karoo Crusade was one of C4C’s first initiatives – a 5-day cycling challenge that took place between 29 November – 3 December 2023. Five friends embarked on an 800km cycling tour through the Karoo to raise funds for NPC’s in the George area.
After raising R430,000 for 2023, the goal was to raise R800,000 for 2024. Thanks to generous community pledges, the team had secured more than R450 000 at the time of publishing.
